Does Honda plan to put manual transmissions in their V6s Accords?

I have a 1990 Accord with a manual trans, and would love to get my hands on a 6cyl. accord with a manual trans

 

i heard a rumor that they were, i think they need too, but i dont know for sure

 

For some reson Honda must think that the majority wants auto....Guess that makes us in the minority. But the v-6 sure would be sweet with a 5 speed... Honda better start following Nissan's lead....

 

with enough $$$ you can stick a NSX tranny in there.

 

a couple of good friends of mine just came from the honda dealer and one of the guys that work there said that in Oct. 02 honda is coming out with a 6-speed manual accord that is going to have the 260hp type S engine. And it will only come in the two door model. I don't know how true that is but if it can swap in the 2 doors now that would be str8!!!

 

Thats because the majority want autos! I work at a Dealership, last i heard 80% of accords we sell are automatics. Why do you think the Prelude died? The V6 accord killed it. The majority of the public likes slow revving, low-redline torquey engines with automatics.

I would be VERY suprised if the new accord coupe gets the 260hp and 6-speed. Why would anyone buy a CL then? For some heated leather seats? Doesnt make sense to me. I think Honda learned its lesson with the Prelude/AccordV6 mess. I expect it to have about 220hp with a 6-speed.

nah, its true...but its supposed to have 240 hp not 260...but it is a version of the type s engine...

the cl type s is also getting the 6-spd and more power for '03 (supposed to be out in march with a complete redesign, then the accord will come a little later in the year)

but yes, the 6-spd manual is coming and about 240 hp...they can do this now because the prelude is gone, so it can't take away sales from it anymore
