i own the black one. It needs alot of TLC b/c the previous owner didn't take very good care of it.. Future plans are JDM itr front end conversion, remove rear wing, and full paint job back to stock color.. and some wheels.. lets hear some comments. thanks..

even with the best paint job in the world in the cleanest booth and letting your paint bake for 4 days, your paint will never be the same. The paint in the factory has a positive charge and the sealer has a negative charge, that is why the paint is so even in the hard to reach spots. I wouldnt repaint that. If you do decide to repaint, take it to someone who does it the right way
welcome to the itr board.
car looks great. like mach says, do as much to the paint (cleaning and waxing) before you decide to do a repaint. you may be surpised what a good healthy cleaning can do. it'll save you $ and the possible headache if the paint job is not done properly.
more pictures please!

hhmmm.. thanks for all the comments guys.. yes the repaint will go back to stock color, but i will think on it.. when the front end goes on, i wanted to have the whole thing repainted that way it'll look even? i guess.. and as for the wing, i was just never big on wings, so it might have to go.. but again, i'll rethink that tooo

my thoughts exactly... I think he means that he's going to preserve the existing color.

my fbp has it's share of door dings and minute, sworly scratches, but after a good wash and an application of product (ie: I use this stuff: )

you can get it looking quite new. Despite being 5ish years old, my paint rivals that of any new car and has not faded a noticeable amount. Keep in mind that the rrr is my daily driver and was not garaged for about two years.

You say "back to stock color". Are you saying it's not the stock color now? Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
A good paint shop should be able to match the JDM front end to the rest of the car without a complete repaint. Swirls are in the clearcoat and can be taken out. No need for an expensive repaint that could hurt the value of your car.
As far as the rear wing goes, a couple of things to consider: it is OEM; it's not like a ricey add-on. Also it's actually functional, at speed, to put some downforce on the rear to help keep it stable. I'd keep it on but of course it's your car and personal preference.

Keep in mind that caRs painted black are much less noticeable when you have parts repainted, save your money and paint what you need too, but nothing more
well when i say im gonna repaint it back to stock color, i just meant i going to repaint it again.. meaning im not going to change the color or anything just repaint it to the stock color it came in.. thanks for the info guys.. i'll have to look into that stuff 1500 was talking bout.. but i really havn't decided yet as what i am goin to do with this car.. i still have a 98 gsr i need to sell first.. anyone interested??
For door dings you might try paintless repair. I have seen some amazing results. They make it look easy, but it is harder than it looks. I had watched the guy fix dings on my wifes car. I decided to try it one time and messed it up worse. I finally took it to the guy and he was able to fix it, but I had to deal with him preaching to me how I made his job harder.

yes! klasse all-in-one. quite honestly the best paint cleaning product i have ever used. it's not cheap, but so are the results.
perfect for removing oxidation and for cleaning and "feeding" your paint. you really ought to try this product out (or any similar type of product) before a repaint.
kepani-who should have done a before/after pic on a friends' white '92 civic...
