Mini-Me question... D16Y8 or D16Z6 head?
i know im probably gonna get flamed for this but i just wanted to know is there really much of a difference i mean it seems to me they produce about the same power and torque but im still not sure... i guess i shoudl really search more but 30 minutes of reading **** that doesnt help me is pointless and a waste of time so i decided to post.

well first of all searching is prety easy and it doesnt take 30 mins to figure this out.

If you don't want to convert to OBD-1, you can use your D16A6 (Pre OBD) distributor to the D16Y8 Head. The D16A6 distributor bolts right in the D16Y8 head. I have heard the D16Y8 flows just a tad bit better then the D16Z6, probably not even noticeable. The D16Y8 created a bit more power over teh D16Z6 because of the cam and the slighly higher compression.
The setup I am running right now is D16A6 block with a D16Z6 Head (converted the car over to OBD-I, using a conversion harness and the correct OBD-1 Distributor)
I suggest you search around. There are plenty of sites out there.
Heres putting a Y8 Head on a A6 Block
