Default brake fluid

just wondering what kind of brake fluid you guys are running? i have a 2000 si and i need to pick some up. whats the best?

I use the valvoline stuff at autozone. Its in the greyish silver bottle.

Its always there and priced competitively.

If you want something a little better like ATE superblue you will probably have to mailorder it or special order it from you shop.

Ok I a hydraulic mech and you are just wasting your money buying top of the line fluid. Dot 3 or 4 is fine for normal driving. The biggest cause of fluid going bad is old age. Your service manual has the proper time change requirements. Liquids are incompressible and that is the bottom line. Water would even work in a emergency. Save your money.

DOT 3, 4 and 5.1 systems are incompatible with DOT 5 fluid.

castrol Lma Gt dot 3/4 from pep boys at $5/qt. Lma stands for low moisture absorbing.

Just got new rotors and pads from stoptech, I also got Motul RBF 600 DOT4 brake fluid, not sure if its over doing it or not. we'll see how it goes
