Default Maintenance on a bike?

Searched to see if there was any post like this but couldnt find any.

Im still new to bikes and was wondering if anyone can give me a list of scheduled maintenance like on a car. 3000 oil change, 15k radiator flush/trans fluid.... stuff like that.

Get yourself an owner's manual or service manual (can usually be found off eBay...and for cheap!).

yeah every bike is different, get an owners manual. i think new bikes come with them or you can special order one for about $20. there are certin things i do on my bikes that owners manuals don't say like change brake fluid every 3 to 4 months about 3000 miles. it sounds like a bit much, but it feels so much better every time you do and it takes all of about 5 min to do.

oil is said to be done approx every 3K miles ON MY BIKE, i do it every 1500 to 2000. i don't know for sure it it makes any difference but oil is cheep... coolant i do once a year.

GET A MANUAL!

Thats ridiculous, but if you have the money go nuts, unless your putting on an insane amount of mileage there is no need to waste like that...to each his own i sappose...

I'm willing to bet you could find maintenance schedules online for most bikes. You own a bike but are too cheap to spend $20 on a manual? I just don't understand people sometimes.

valve clearance - 20k
spark plugs - 8k
fuel filter - 20k
chain lube - 600
oil change - 4k
oil filter - 8k

that's for my 03 yamaha yzf-600r, probably the same for an r6.
