first maintenance ?
well, i finally hit the 500 mark and need to take my bike into get the first maintenance done, but what are they actually doing? is it something i can do myself? I figure they change the oil and filter but what else do they do?
yeah from what i've been told its the biggest waste of $180 (thatst what they charge here) basically an oil change, chain tightening, check fluids etc. i dit it myself
they change oil, check the chain, check coolant, torque your bolts etc etc.
the only thing that could be hard that they do do is the throttle body sync. or carb sync. It's not very hard to do. don't skimp on it as on my r6, after 1000 miles, the throttle bodies were pretty off and the mileage was going down. I dn't think from the factory, they sync them too well.

The sync job is the dealer's responsibility in that whole "setup" thing they charge you for. The last dealer I was at had the most incompetant guy setting up the bikes...
