b16a and b16a2
hi again i want to know how i know if a engine is b16a or b16a2 becuase for me it look the same i know the b16a has 160 and the a2 has 170 but superficially looks the same !!! well thanks regards
im not sure but doesnt it say right there on the block b16a2 and on the first gen it says just b16a i think right? i havent seen my cars block in sooo long i dont even remember,
All jdm B16A are stamper the same..."B16A" with no extra number beside it. 1st gen and 2gen B16's are most easily identified by the wire harness. A 1st gen has milky white plugs on it and uses 2 O2 sensors, 2nd gen engines has grey plugs and use only one heated o2 sensors further back on the header.
Its that simple.
Its that simple.
well that kinda only applies if your buying from a importer like hmoters, because i have 2 b16 blocks and i am going to convert the one in my car know to obd1, should i decide to sell it.that motor know has grey plugs that has one o2 sensor.

You can look on the head right above the exhaust manifold for the date it was made that will tell you what it is if it is jdm if it is not a jdm motor then it would say b16a2 if it is an a2
