Underdrive crank pulley and underdrive alt and p/s pulley together?
I have an arospeed underdrive crank pulley installed on my f22b2.
I just bought the TRUPOWER pulley set from AEM.
Looking at them I realize something.
The crank underdrive pulley is smaller than the stock harmonic balancer/crank pulley therfore underdriving the alt and p/s pulleys already.
At low RPM my headlights and interior lights dim. Mainly only at idle and once she is above 1k than she's fine.
Now when/IF I install these other pulleys, she will be underdriven even more because the new pulleys are MUCH larger than the stock pulleys. Meaning that my alternator will be putting out even LESS power and I dunno... that probably won't be too good considering the fact that she needs the alternator power to power the spark for the plugs and such.
I'm a full time mechanic, I can do just about damn near anything to a car myself. This is just a question I am wondering about. I'm no alternator expert. Am I concerning myself over something stupid? Should I consider getting a higher powered alternator or should I
A. Leave the crank pulley on and call it quits...
B. Install the TRUPOWER pulleys and remove the crank pulley and replace with the stock one.
C. Install both and hope for the best?
I tried searching but the engine is down right now. Please give me your opinions.

Can anyone give me a little advice? I'm waiting to put the parts on but not before I know what I'm getting into.

I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) You have to keep some weight (rotating mass) in the drive belt otherwise your alternator/air conditioning will not operate properly.
Does anyone else know anything about this? Thanks for your reply Tx but as far as I know all it take is for them to be spinning at a certain RPM. I'm probably just going to leave them off.
yup ur new pulleys will cause your alt to undercharge your power system. Generally the Alt pulley is supposed to spin at two and a half times to the speed of the crank. Obviously with your new larger pulley it wont be spinning this fast any more. What this means is that your engine needs to be spinnig at about 1000 to 1200 rpm's for your sytem to charge properly. So how do you get ur engine to spin at this rate?? Simple. Drive around. I had the pulleys on my old engine for about 2 years with no probs. The only time you notice the drop in power is at idle. Your lights will be noticably dimmer But once the car gets moving the system will charge right back up. All in all they are a good mod that I would reccomend
So just to make sure... you had all three aftermarket pulleys on right?
If yes then I have another question.... I don't want to undercharge my system for too long. I leave my car running by itself for sometimes up to an hour (I crank my car when ready to leave from work and sometimes I get held back).
I would like to set my idle higher... around 1k. I think I need a computer to reset to ECU to my liking... am I correct?
