Other than that. Is there something cosmetically on the faces or on the front of the cluster that I can tell them apart.

itll work, jsut have to redo pins to match the cluster... pinout diagrams can be found here...

http://www.ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.php?t=1400

you would also need an 88-89 cluster cover

no it wont fit cuz of the plug.. but you can modify your plug... by buying a 88-89 plug...

or you can sell that and just buy a 90-91....

This is my daily driver, so I dont want to take too many chances. I think I will just buy one I know for a fact is out of a 90 - 91. Thanks.

Too much misinformation going around. Holy shiite!

88-89 and 90-91 are different.

Why?

Because they are wired differently.

Do they have the same plugs?

Yes.

Will the tach work once you have it wired correctly?

Yes. Pop the tach cable VSS? onto the cluster.

Is it hard to re-pin the factory wiring harnesses that plug in the cluster?

No, just follow the diagrams for the 88-89.

HF and SI should be the same.
