Default Euro R H22 swap... Just raced a fully built GSR hatch

I have a 95 hatch w/ The Ultimate H22 Euro R swap... i recently took out a fully built b16 hatch and a stock EVO 8.... but last night, i lost to a fully built gsr swap... MY question is, what can i do to make my more power out of my motor... it already has the high compression, type s cams and EURO R manifold... HELP

my Spec's right now: Stock 2001 Euro R... w/ stock headers, cheap short ram intake, custom 2.5 exhaust w/ no cat and using a p28 s200 hondata....it's also sitting on stock civic suspension w/si rims on shitty tires...

BTW... w/p28 chip ecu : i ran 14.6 @ 96 and now with hondata - I haven't got the chance to run it yet...

EDIT : UPDATE on the race... The secret finally came out, the guy was shooting NOS!!!! All his friends and even himself said that he would of lost if he went all motor... HELLA Yeah... H22 all the way...

how far did you lose by and was he a 2.0L built and how was traction? maybe you should get a better header, upgrade your suspension and get the car dyno tuned...good luck

Only 14.6? Damn man, my times with my B16 in a 92 VX hatch are consistant 14.1's @ 99MPH.

Best time was 13.9 @ 102MPH with 1.9 60 foot on street tires.

How is your traction? You should probably invest in some traction bars with that heavy motor. Keep those wheels on the ground more. Do you have alot of wheel hop?

The 14.6 run was with the p28 chipped, untuned, and sitting on some shitty *** tires, plus my car was not even drop... yes, it was really hard to catch tractions, my first run was 16.1 @ 101 mph...(lol) i was only lauching at 2000 rpm... anything higher, i'll be doing burnouts.... it was pretty dissapponted though, since B series swap does the same times... the motor does runs much better when the hondata setup...i haven't timed it yet but possibly in the 13's since i took an EVO8.... the fully built GSR swap that i ran, he told me he was doing 12's ... my motor is just stock as of right now... i just needed some sugestions to make it faster, that's all...

You have enough motor there to run deep into the 13's. I'd look elsewhere to solve your problems.

For instance, do something with that suspension! Simply changing the settings on a set of adjustable struts can net 2 or 3 tenths. That's more than a few car lengths right there. If you don't have some serious spring rates (and shocks) out back, then your weight is just transferring rearward, making traction a worse nightmare than it already is on a FWD.

AN-R header is what you need. You should be cutting way better times than that tho.

13.58@99.9 MPH
on Falken Azenis
2.2 60'

B16a2 stock block
stock ITR head
ITR tranny 4.7 FD
Fidanza Flywheel
South Bend Clutch
Inake
AN-R header merge
RSR GTII exhaust
VAFCII untuned
Mugen P28

14.6?? at 96 MPH with the Accord R 220 HP? Kinda slow isnt it? My stock H22A ran 99 MPH traps with 14.1 ET, 2.20 60 foot (with AFRs down in the 11's come to find out). I thought my times the first time I ran it were crap to be honest.

street slicks meaning drag radials I take it? 3-4 car lengths doesnt sound too quick to me. No offense but a built GSR hatch will annilate u by a hell of alot more than 3-4 car lengths.

A friend with a mildly built GSR (ported head, CTR cams, SK2 intake mani, thin HG, hondata, and a no-name header) in a 5G hatch that still retains some interior runs very consistent 12.60's on slicks. But then again, he put his money into the *suspension*... see a pattern? His car seriously hooks up even though he launches at nearly 9k rpm's, with 60 ft's in the 1.7 range. Not taking anything away from him though. The guy can drive.

you need nothing but learn how to drive. with that Euro R h22, you should be able to hit low 13s all day long.

i think i'm a good enough driver... it's just the tires that i'm using... anything higher than 2000 rpm i'll do a burn out show...
