front end shake
I have a shake/shimmy in the front end from 40 mph and gets worse the faster I go only. Only does it on ecceleration. Ckecked ball joints, tie rod ends, tires balanced and the r/l/f motor mounts. Any ideas??? And its stick so do I have a rear motor mount?
havent had it aliened yet but the tires and rims are only a few months old unless I lost a weight. Do you think it could shake like it does only on ecceleration if its a tire or alienment?

Yah I heard it could be a sticky cv but I'm not sure its that being both aren't even a year old but anything could happen. It just pssmf that its bin going on now for over a week and ended up breaking a front torque strut.
Some wheels are very hard to balance. There are some new balancing machines that do a much better job. I forget what they are called. They are more expensive though. Cost me $128 for the four wheels, but it was worth it bacause my truck would shake from 40mph, and get worse as I gained speed, when balanced with a regular machine. Did you try switching the wheels from back to front? If it got better or worse you would at least have it narrowed down.

Bad tie rods, bad ball joints, bad toe, bad camber, bad caster and bad wheel bearings don't cause the problem you've been having.
Bad tie rods and ball joints squeek and grind, bad wheel bearings will humm or whine (or make no noise at all), bad toe, caster, camber cause tire wear or tracking but no vibration.
Let's talk about the "few" things that can cause it and use the method of elimination.
1: Bad inner CV joints on one or both axles
2: Bad front or rear or both motor mounts
3: Bad Differential bearings
4: Bad flat spot on a tire
We're gonna start by eliminating "Tire flat spot" and differential bearings because one would cause vibrations all the time and the other isn't very common at all.
You can go ahead and replace both your axles with NEW axles (reman'd axles can be much more hassle than they're worth) or you can go buy polyurethane mount inserts and stiffen up your front and rear motor mounts. If that doesn't solve the problem then you know you're only out 25$ and a couple hours of labor. Then, it's time to replace one or both of the axles.
I'm facing the SAME situation and I have 2 NEW axles. I applied load to the engine while I looked at the motor mounts with a flash light and the rear was close to bottoming out and the front had way too much play.

chk the tires, wheel balance, chk axles , i have seen a few bad inner cv joints cause same problem,, does only the steering wheel shake or is it the whole car ?? alignment will not cause shaking so dont waste u r time and money to have it checked, it could also be an engine miss......bad plug? wires? does car shake at idle when u accell???
mine shakes the whole car when I accelerate over 50% throttle and I just changed my axles... what else could it be? my tranny? if it's my tranny how can I determine that it is it?

Dorry worry about the tranny until the real affordable solutions are utilized first. What's the condition of your mounts?
You can determine if it's your tranny by removing your tranny, taking the casing apart, and inspecting the bearings.

More than likely a bent axle. Have a shop put the car in the air with someone inside and have them put it in gear and hit the gas.. they will be able to see by watching the axles if any of them are bent.
Have you have a timing belt service done recently ? another possibility could be misaligned balance shafts.
