NEED HELP Extremely bad. (tappet popped out of p8R head)
Ok guys I was doing my valve adjustment and right when I was done I went to go tighten/secure all the tappets and I went to tighten #2 exhaust tappet and it popped out. I need to be at work in an hour and a half and I need to get the tappet back in.
HELP.
HELP.
You've got to take the cam out (slip timing belt off cams gears)...
There is no other choice since you can not press the valves down by the valve stem without obstructing the placement of the rockers.

Well if I can get the tappet apart from the ball/screw I can def put it in without taking the cam out, the problem is not the tappet doesnt want to come apart lol. I dont really want to take the cam out because I dont have the time to **** with the timing.
I popped a tappet out on my b18a1 head before, I was afraid I was gonna have to pull the cams to get it back in. Instead I just put it to TDC on the affected cyl., and carefully worked it back on. It may help to relax the adjuster all the way, if you can.
I have done this before as well. Best bet is take the cam out and fix the tappet then put it back together. It shouldn't take you long, maybe 15 min tops! then you are back to where you were so you can slap the valvecover on and head to work!

Not rushing anything, just trying to get it in another way, but since I already went to work and back I have all the time in the world.

See thats the problem, I cant really adjust it lol. Its giving me hell to adjust it. Whatever tomorrow I will just take out the cam and put it in and readjust it.
I dont see how it happened though, with .007 clearance flat how does it just pop out lol.

It is the piece that goes inbetween the valvespring and cam. What the cam rides on to open the valves.

You need a 19 mm socket and rachet and either a special tool for the crank pulley or a chain strap wrench
Or, you need an air gun set at 150 psi with a 19mm socket
