Check the VSS and plug on the top of the tranny. The sensor could be bad.

Do you have a check engine light on?

Oh and I fixed the title of your topic - next time make the title specific to the problem.

What fuse would you change? I have the same problem on a 96 stock base model and see no fuse for the speedo?

Thanks for any help folks

it's not for the speedo, it's for the alt speed or rpm signal

check under the intake manifold where there is the brace there might be a wire (black and yellow) that has been rubbing on it and it could have its insulation stripped off. check it out it is a very common problem

wiring under intake, that shorts out and causes that fuse to blow.

I have the same problem, i replaced the VSS and that didn't do anything. What should i do next, i look at the wiring behind my GSR Cluster it looked good and the orange wire lead to the speed sensor and it wasnt loose. i am running out of ideas.
