Default Exhaust decision time

This will be going on my white 96 civic ex.

The problem is i want a quiet exhaust but i'm also going turbo somewhere down the road... probably wont be until maybe the summer of 2006 at the soonest. So a more freeflowing exhaust would be great for turbo & it will be quiet but not until i actually get a turbo.

This one seems nice it has a titanium tip and it looks like a very quiet exhaust design.

This is basically a N1 design made by invidia. It looks really nice and i'm sure it gives more power over the others. The reason i dont like it is even w/the silencer in i'm sure it will be loud as hell. Once i turbo somewhere down the road though this will be the best exhaust it will even be quiet then.

Another quiet exhaust i like how it looks too.

Another nice exhaust more free flowing than the 1st and 3rd but it this one does have a 4.5 inch tip which is another .5inches bigger than the others and looks like ****. Should be a lil louder than the 1st and 3rd.

the first and second are loud as hell, and poor quality, and not good for turbo
the third is quiet, but makes very little power, horrible for turbo
the fourth in the 3 inch turbo version, is a somewhat quiet good turbo exhaust

your best bet for a exhaust thats not going to be to loud and be good for turbo
imo is going to be the Thermal research and desgin 3 inch turbo exhaust
if you get it before the turbo goes on your gonna loose alittle power because 3 inches is to big for N/A but great for turbo

thermal is a exellent quality exhaust, its not to loud, and its pretty stealth

No i really need something quiet, because like i said i'm in college and i wont have funds to complete my turbo project for at least another year.
I'll sacrifice power for quiet sound... why are invidia exhausts bad quality?
Also i'm going to be putting down about 200whp a 60mm exhaust isnt going to kill my power that bad.
damn i forgot to make a poll

well all those exhausts you just listed are pretty loud except the SP unless you get on it...why not go custom piping and throw a couple resonators on the piping and mate it with a univ muffler? the resonators would help quiet down the exhaust.

invidia= skunk2, there the same exhausts, personaly a good friend of mine has had a bad expierence with them, his mid pipe rusted out, they send him another, not bad, same thing happend again and one middle and the rear hangers rusted off and they said they wont replace it becuase they alreay gave him a mid pipe, o and this exhaust is almost new, like a couple months old
and iv seen countless posts about people skunk2's/invidia exhaust rusting and rattling

Yeah rusting isnt any good, i had an rs*r ex-mag b4 and it rusted within a year. They ended up sending me a new one so i sold that. Thats why i'm looking at all of these exhausts becuase their all made from SUS304.

I did want to go the custom route and i still might but i'm having trouble finding anyone around here to make me one.

I tried asking them what kind of stainless it is and i dont think they know. I've been looking at kteller stuff but i have to have SUS304.

I dunno why that 1st exhaust would be loud, it doesnt look like it would at all. I'm so confused on what to get.

He said he had RSR already....it rusted on him and he got a new one and sold it. thats why hes looking for an alternate exhaust.

ahh bummer. I had a RSR for over 2 years and it didn't rust. Still the best exhaust I have ever had.

I'd suggest an Apexi WorldSport...full stainless now. Or Mugen! Best all around exhaust.

Get SP2, you can get it in a larger diameter for turbo I beleive thats what it says on greddy's website.

Like most people have been saying you're not going to get a super quiet exhaust w/o sacrificing power. The SP2 is a great exhaust for N/A and is very quiet but once you smack the turbo on there its gonna be I'll agree with the thermal is going to be your best bet. It's really hard to get the best of both worls with a turbo exhaust, quiet and power...that's just the way it is.

I think i might just get a sp2 and keep that until i'm turboed then switch up my piping. I dont know though keep the opinions coming.

dude you cant just switch up the piping, the internal diameter of the muffler is still to small, and its a very restrictive muffler which is also bad for turbo

dude just do yourself a favor and get the 3 Inch Thermal Catback
its one of the most affordable and one of the best turbo exhausts
