Show me the way!
Hey y'all... new to the H-T forum... been a die-hard rotary guy for a number of years now, and have completely restored, raced, and built 7 first gen RX7's, and 2 second gen RX7's.
Finally realized that it's getting closer to the time to settle down, and *sorta* grow up...
I'm looking to buy a 1994-1997 Honda Accord WAGON. Yes, I want a wagon... and it has to be 4cyl., and 5spd.
Now, I'm fairly competent when it comes to building cars, and what components for what, but when it comes to being an all-around car, that I can autoX, drag race, drive DAILY, AND get 25+ mpg, I have some serious questions as to what components work for the Accord.
Here's my shopping list so far, tell me if it's crap, or if I should dump the money on it.
HKS Hipermax II coilovers
Greddy SP2 exhaust
Power Slot slotted front and rear rotors
Napa CeramiX ceramic brake pads
Earl's DOT-approved braided stainless brake lines
Turbonetics full T3/T4 turbo kit
Full MSD ignition
AEM EMS
JDM headlights
Work Meister wheels, 17x7.5" all around
Falken Azenis Sports 225/45-17
Bride Brix II racing seats
Takata harnesses.
I realize that it may be some sort of "wish list", but obviously, it will all be purchased in stages... I'm just looking to see if I've selected the right stuff to blow my tax refund on, or if there's better stuff out there.
Let me know!

First off..... DRAG RACING A WAGON!?!?!?
Second Turbonetics is crap
Third If your getting bride's, get ergos
Fourth If you want to spend $700 on harnesses (for each!) be my guest.
Last, are you sure know as much as you're leading us to believe? Cause it sounds like you picked up a super street and wrote down the parts list for a show car

Drag racing a wagon: Yes... it's more for the sleeper effect. I've seen a number of wagons at the Jax Raceways (1/8 mile) here in Jacksonville, FL that are in the mid 8's... which puts them at about a 12 sec. 1/4.
If turbonetics is crap, what should I get?
I've ridden in both the Brix and the Ergos.. I prefer the Brix more. Personal preference.
Takata Harnesses are only 400 a piece.
And yes, I do know what I'm talking about.... I absolutely ABHOR show cars. I build fast cars, not pretty cars. I do all of my own work, and admittedly, I'm new to the Honda scene... I stated that in my first post. But for you to flame someone who has built a number of VERY competitive race cars shows YOUR ignorance.

If youre a good restorer you should know a good fabricator, or you yourself know how to.
I'd fab up a turbo setup with a good Innovative turbo. They come highly recommended from Payn Tech, which is a really quality builder. It's a lot easier to pick your own parts, Greddy BOV, etc that way and make it a high quality build.
I'd look into a PWR water:air intercooler for the turbo if youre planning to keep it a sleeper, you can relocate the battery to the huge rear of the car and there should be plenty of room to fit a good one in.
You could save money by having your own exhaust system made, from someone you know or from kteller.com

I'd also get all new bushings and get some Suspension Techniques, Neuspeed, etc, front strut, rear sway, etc bars, because an Accord is a solid car and these suspension upgrades improve it by so much.
I'd also invest in some Koni adjustables, KYB AGX, or Tokico Illumina shocks to go with the coils so you can adjust your ride quality

i think if you are going to get an accord, the wagon is unique to say the least. if you want a 5spd you are going to be looking for a long time. if auto then you are in business.
here is a link i found when looking for a h22 swap you might like.

Just never (EvAr) seen a Drag wagon, but hey prove me wrong
. And like it was said before, fab your own turbo setup. Look at compression maps for various turbos and pic the one to best suit your needs, then build around that. Didn't intentionally flame you but the list did look like something out of a magazine. Sorry

first off, wagons are pimp....its gonna be very difficult to find a 5th gen wagon in a 5spd, especially one in good shape, so you might even look into buying one with a seized motor, and just throwing in an f22b (jdm DOHC prelude motor) or f22b1(stock SOHC)...both are very cheap, VERY boost friendly motors that are readily availalble......your "wish list" looks pretty good, im just jealous if thats all coming from your tax refund.....jesus christ, i just got back my $180 fed check
are you on rx7 club??

fw190bvi... yes, I'm CHEF_EG_1 on the rx7 club. I'm in the first gen and SE forums a LOT.
As far as the shocks go, it's my understanding that the coilovers themselves ARE the shocks... at least that's how they were on a EK Hatch that I helped build... But they were Tein RA's... not sure how the HKS Hipermax II stacks up to it.
Ok... since finding a 5th gen wagon 5spd is damn near impossible, what all am I looking at getting to convert over to a 5spd from auto? Is it worth the time and effort?
Honestly, I AM looking for a car that I can build from the ground up... but at the same time, a majority of these projects will have to be able to be done in a weekend. Suspension and brakes I'm not worried about... hell, most of it is fairly straightforward. Seeing as this car will also be DD, I can't go WEEKS without it running. A week at the most... hence my asking about the auto-5spd swap.
And harnesses can plug into another connecter that gets welded under the back seat. I'm a big fan of harnesses. I drive aggressive enough that it almost warrants it. :D
BTW, my refund should be pretty nice... thanks to H&R Block screwing up my taxes last year, I'm getting back 3 times the refund I got last year, to compensate for it, and all of this year's refund. Cheffy happy :D

no f22 love from the mainstream as far as s/c goes.....the h22 has a market for the s/c crowd but there are clearence issues on h22 accords.. turbo is the easiest for us. if you were only looking for like 6 or 7 psi anyways (which is usually what is run for a s/c) you can get a turbo that spools really early and gives you the same boost that a s/c will give you, for cheaper.
just remember there is no need to ruin a good stock internaled h22 with boost. boost the f.
http://board.hondasociety.com/...wagon
an other little something i found for you... its a 4th gen though.

90-93 would be just as hard to find... ACcord wagons are not generally easy to find.. but he is right. the CB chassis accords are a better platform for the H22 swap than the CD... neither of them are hard to swap into... but the CB is easier :D
