accordselux this is for you!!!!!!!!!!! meaning of (lsd)&(msd)
lsd ( limted slip Differential) ok for those genius that really know, lsd means 50/50 on both side of the tires, as supposed for 70/30,,,,again i keep going lower, meaning, both the tires give out the same power on both sides, meaning lower, better acceleration, meaning lower better take off,,,,,,,,,next lesson (msd) multi spark discharge, should i even say more, think not
neg, LSD is sorta what you said, and sorta isnt. If you turn, an LSD will let one wheel slip to turn at a faster rate than the other. The outside wheel covers more terrain than the inner wheel in a turn. If it was 50/50 the outide wheel would basically skip along the ground. Those kind of Diffs are illegal and not allowed on the street. the MSD thing, totally right :D

7speed obviously didn't pick up on the fact that he was being flamed in his other thread, for asking if his car will beat his friends car.
Here's the thread I'm referring to:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1150883
7speed, before you start giving "lessons" next time, make sure you know the material a little better.

what the **** does this "lower" suppose to mean? as in you keep going lower, lower acceleration, lower take off...

Just wtf.... Also, since you made this same exact post in your other thread there's no need for another thread about that just so you will get flamed even more than you were in the original thread. Think man, think.

Not so bright. go re-read your other stupid 'what do you think' thread and learn what an lsd really is.
also, re-read the terms of agreement for use on this site. your threads have all violated the forum rules in some form or another.

Haha I was making fun of you and you STILL dont get it which proves my point even more....
If you KNEW about cars it would be FUNNY!
See you put LSD and MSD together like they were both transmission components.
Open diff applies equal torque to both wheels depending on the traction,
Limited diff transfers power to wheel that is NOT slipping....power dist not always equal....bla bla bla....I need a LSD on my project car cause its gonna be powerful...yadda yadda yadda....I'm getting one so I already have been reading up on them.

There was also an article in one of the various magazines I subrscribe to quite recently about differentials....SCC, GRM, Dsport, Turbo, something like taht...

I hope you are not talking to me in your reply.
And I hope you are not serious about your definition of open differential.

Open diff applies power to ONE wheel only. The other wheel is just along for the ride.

Wrong again. Open diff allows your wheels to spin at different rates. In the event of unequal traction, open diff lets whatever wheel spin the most to do just that.
Your definition implies that all cars are essentially 1WD if they do not have an lsd.
So many opinions, so little truth.....

nah, I didnt think I was misinformed, I am right to teh fullest. I didnt go very technical into it, I just tipped the iceberg to make him understand it. If you want a little more indepth detail, I'll go ahead and scan the whole section on differentials in one of my text books.

No i'm not wrong. All cars are essentially 1wd. power on an open diff is transferred to one wheel only, genarally called the drive side. Put a car on a lift and run the engine. Only one wheel spins, bud.

7-speed, im sure everyone besides you on Honda-tech knew what msd and lsd meant without having to look them up. you suck. Go to superhonda or cardomain. K thanks bye.

I have, and he is more than correct, put your car on a lift, and if it doesnt have LSD, only one will spin, or to try it at home, put your car on jackstands and do it, one will spin. I never taken apart or seen the inside of a dyno, but I am sure that both the 'drums' are connected, therefore they will both spin.

thats because thats how an open diff works....one side is "favored"....up on a lift, neither wheels experience friction, so the "favored" or "drive side" will recive all the power from the motor as if it were slipping on ice...if cars were only one wheel drive, you couldnt easily go straight....
