Anyone have a Spoon T/B on their GSR's?
are you talkin about the 70mm one?
if, so if your not really modded up its not really it
just boring out your stock one would be fine
i have the holley 68mm one and i think its a little big already

a mugen radiator cap and thermostat doesnt warrant your username
also, if your car was tuned you would have a number in whp, not at the flywheel.

the holley's alright. i wouldn't know if it really makes a difference
i was goin to put on a bored out oem one to see if there is a differrence
i slapped everything together at once

Why even bother posting crap like that?

The spoon T/b actually tapers off from 70mm to like 62 or 60 (Not positive on the final spec, but I believe its 62), so it's kinda like a bottleneck effect. I've heard the best thing to do is to just get the stock one bored out. It's also a great deal cheaper. I've heard RC can bore it out for less then 300 bucks. Also, this has the benefit of retaining the stock piece, instead of swapping in something that will probably affect emissions. I'm gonna bore mine out to 64 mm to go along with my skunk2 manifold.
Just because you're too poor to afford Mugen items doesn't mean you should put down other people.
Jeff-

just cuz you buy mugen radiator cap..it doesn't give you the title of "MUGEN" and calling people poor.

Jeff-
IF he does have a nice ride... with all these things, I'm sure he proudly tells everyone his car is MUGEN tuned. So one day if Mr. Mugen sees him... HE MAY proudly smack this kid for using a MUGEN name, while not having much MUGEN stuff.
Even more so... I'm SURE he pulled his motor out and hooked it to a dyno... and got REAL engine HP... Come on, don't u dyno your motor OUT of the car? Those damn dynojets are soooo inaccurate!!!
lol..yup he dyno'd the motor out of the car. thanks jeff, thats what i was referring to...if someone puts an apc wing on their car it doesnt make their car a "touring car"
umm, and to mr . "fugen" gsr... who the hell here cant afford a mugen radiator cap u dumbass?

OK, back to the subject at hand (not to same I'm not enjoying this...)
When you get the stock throttle body bored out, is the "plate" replaced?
Would grinding off the screws that hold the plate on help any?
If you could bore out your stock throttle body for about $300... why not spend the $100 or so more to get a Holley t.b.? It seems the Holley would yield better airflow than a bored oem tb, correct?
Thanks
PS- I happen to have an old throttle body off a non-vtec B18B integra for sale if anyone is interested. I got it at a junkyard and it definatly needs some cleaning, but it would be perfect to send off to someone such as RC. Email me with an offer if interested. integra@triad.rr.com

yes the plate is replaced. and are you kidding me $300 for boring out a throttlebody? thats crazy. a shop over here charges only 150
i don't think you can bore out an oem throttlebody to 68mm like holley
if you have a close to stock car its just better to just get the oem one bored out
you'll just bog out if the throttle body is too big and it is very possible
you'll lose horsepower.

Don't forget to port-match your intake manifold if you're getting a bored out or larger diameter throttle body. The increased turbulents and reduction in air velocity because of the mis-matched openings will likely reduce performance.
