Ouch!!!!! I JUST GOT SHOCKED!!!!
I had my hood popped open with the motor running. I was about to push my ignition wires in the distributor to make sure there nice and snug. Then before i touch it shocked me. I was thinking i had a hole in the wire and thats y it was shocking me. But i change then out with me friends and it still did it. Can somebody tell me whats wrong? The car drives fine. Its a 93 gsr.
there stock wires but my friends are from a 99 gsr, so they cant be that old.
What do you mean by
"You have less resistance to ground than the motor " ?

Definately a possibility.
Have you had any work lately? There are a couple engine grounds.
One from the valve cover to the front...cant miss it..
One near the passenger side motor mount..
anymore???
Check those...

I don't get shocked, but my friend almost always gets shocked when he touches that area around the dizzy with the motor running. I think it's normal.

I always have to wear gloves when I am checking my ign. wires. They always friggin shock me and they are 1000 miles old. I think its just cause they will sometime put out a poor quality product but not that often. Hey, its not so much the shock hurts... just surprised you huh?

I've shocked myself with 120V AC quite a few times and my heart still beats somewhat regularly... hehehe... One time I stuck my hand into a control panel and completely the 120V AC circuit to ground with my thumb. Boy did that hurt... left a little 1st degree burn and numbness and tingling for a good hour...
my friend when he was a jackass (i was too, but i didnt do electrical stuff on my car) was installing some led scanner thing on his car and shocked the **** out of himself like 25 times (he didnt disconnect the battery i dont think) and countless other times shocked himself from his car...and he's still very alive. i think its funny that someone said your heart would stop beating
The voltages in the ignition system are much much higher than the 12V source. (Fairly low current, but high voltage.) On average the voltage to the plugs is from 40 to 100 thousand volts!
