Okay so here is the problem i have a 2000 ej and and a while a go i noticed that my headlight(regular) ones did not work anymore also when i had my regular headlights on i had the option with my switch to turn my oem 99-00 fog lights but now i can only drive with my headlight (highbeams) only.? When i switch back to regular headlights they dont turn on nor do my foggs whether i press the button or not only highmeans work i cheked my fuses all
I cheked the bulbs and also
but when i checked the wires that go into this white looking thing behind my steering wheel i think tow were burnt. If you take off the panel that wraps around the steering wheel there is a white looking thing that has wires coming out and the white pice looks burnt and im almost certain that its the problem because a long time a gomi saw smoke coming out and i just ignored it and never bother to check that my bad there. But can someone
Tell me what the white thing is called is it expensive and can i do it myself or do i need to take it to honda? Please help.

What exactly is the white thing? If you have a digital camera then take a picture and we can help.
You probably shorted a wire or melted something. If it's a wire then you might be able to solder it back together yourself. If the damage is more severe, you either have to order the part from honda and install it yourself, or bring your car in to a shop and get raped by the cost.
Do not type in all caps, it's obnoxious.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: I 2nd that. Oh What a lovely behind.

If you had your headlights and foglights running of the same wire, that might have caused the overload, too.
First put it back to stock and then try to find what's wrong.

Your fogs running off the same circuit is probably your problem. When both lights are on it's drawing too many amps and melting the wire's insulation. Whoever did the fog install screwed up. What they should have done is to tap off the headlight circuit to a relay for the fogs. The relay's power should come off the main power supply for the car somewhere. A relay's coil pulls next to no amperage (that's why you always get supplied a relay when you buy aftermarket fog lamps from pep boys or wherever).
Now what you'll probably have to do is rip out that whole white plug and inspect for damage. You might be able to salvage it. If there's serious melting (which it looks like) it probably melted the guts of the white plug. You might be better off just replacing that whole wiring harness for your headlights. Less of a pain that way. It might run you a few bucks though. Never bought a wiring harness before. Call up the honda dealer and ask them.

Damn that *** is off the HOOK!!!!
anyways...um, the plug is probably only sold with the harness, so your best bet is the junkyard...
I agree w/ the guy above. The current draw is too much for that circuit and its overloading the wires...Have someone that knows electrical systems hook it up proprely before something else gets burnt up...
Did I mention that *** is bangin?

thanks for the help and yeah that *** is bangin. lol
so basiclly either buy the plug or harness of the dealer or junkyard and reconnect my fogs to a relay to work properly. is that expensive?

no its not expensive to hook up a relay, just a little time consuming...
Youll have to route the wires and hide them so it all looks professional...
Hooking up relays can be confusing so you may want to get some assistance...
Basicly the relay is a big switch that is activated by a small switch(your headlight switch) that is built to handle the amps your foglight draw.
