A detuned K20Z2 (2005+ RSX-S engine) will be in the car, slightly less powerful than the RSX-S's powerplant, but mated to the same 6-speed transmission. Probably a simple header swap away from regaining that 10hp.
It looks good. The original spy shots had me very concerned, but I dig the **** out of it without the plastic.

it's a show car for SEMA. Honda would never thank god put that ugly *** black hood on a silver car.
There will also be a built drag racer and possbily a RR version of this car at the same show.
The difference between the RS-X and it will be mainly in the ECU and with a slightly different IM designed for more TQ

The majority opinion seems to be that the Acura RSX is going to disappear in the USDM for the 2006 model year.
If that's true, maybe we can hope the 210 HP K20Z1 motor (specially built and tuned for the USDM RSX Type S) will appear in the 2006 Civic Si.
That would be a tremendous development. The USDM Z1 motor's tuning is phenomenal, and the power available throughout the RPM range makes you think you're driving a car with a lot more than 210 HP.

Not feeling the spoiler!
The back (lights & truck) looks a bit like the Old Acura CL .. (NASTY)
WHAT AUTOMAKER SAYS: "The 2006 Civic Si coupe will be the most powerful, fastest and fun-to-drive Si we've ever put on the street, and the Civic Si concept sets the direction in terms of styling, package and performance."
GUESS we will wait and see!

Grandpa what u think about my boys theory....
This new SI. Obviously with the brembo's HID's 5lug, 200+hp. will come in 2006. Actually guessing 2005 due to cars coming out a year sooner to the date they are made. but anyway. i said to him. What would happen to the Type S sales, i think theyd drop considerably. He stated " they'll just bring over the Type R".
Now upon reflection of this conversation with him. I think its a pretty feasible idea that this is probably what would happen.
Honda> 2006 Si
Acura> 2007 Type R
Any Opinions on this theory...

the front is nice, but the back is just nasty. i wish that front end came on the ep. that would be the perfect si. i wonder what the ctr will look like? has there been any concepts shown in japan about the same time?
