ok so if the topic title gives u no clue as it is a bit vague, i have recently found the funds capable of buying a wrecked JDM DC5 ITR from japan, bring it over and swap it all into my DC2 ITR.

One of my first reasons for the swap is to gradually turn my ITR into a Japanese Race Spec/show car sorta thing. so what i had planned was give it a half cage, nice kit (maybe INGS???) or J's racing front lip, skirts, carbon bonnet, then cams, exhaust, ITB's etc etc...

then swap everything over from the DC5 including, brembo brakes, 17s, engine, hubs, gauge cluster, computer and maybe seats depending what condition.

Now i no this is alot of money to be throwing around but most of you should understand as ur car enthuisaists like myself, but the second reason was that... it hasnt been done in new zealand before and pretty sure nothing of this scale has been done in australia either, i could b wrong but any way.

So my question to all you honda lovers.. should i go ahead with it???
it wouldnt b as expensive as most think because i have done alot of research, but then alot say u dont get the money back.. (WHO CARES!?!?!?)

so post back and give me some input, itd also be great f people could post some pics of there own k20a swaps on dc2's and so on and so on.. Thanks guys

 

im not a 100% sure, but please somebody correct me if im wrong, but i dont thnk the brembro brakes from the dc5 fit on the dc2.. again im not so sure, you might want to look into it.. the rest of your plan sounds good.. good luck

 

They do fit with modification, but not worth the hassle.

 

they'll fit by using the hubs, havent looked into using the axles too but could be possible

To tell you the truth, go for it. I always thought the DC2R needed a 6th gear

If and when my B18C goes boom it's gonna be hard for be to decide whether to get a brand new Spoon B18C or a K20A. i-VTEC + 6th gear is so tempting but I'll wait until it happens... before I decide on anything.

 

if i could purchase a wrecked dc5 type r you can be dam sure i would be picking up a 4 door 01 civic

 

I like the k20A motor swaping idea. The rest of the DC5-R stuff doesn't match as well with the DC2 chassis IMO.

 

i have contacted aj-r already just waiting for a reply hopefully, even though there a couple of hundred thousand miles away they may be able to help. f ne one else has done this swap, it would be good to hear from u

Cheaper option (with probably more potential) would be to go for a K24 as engine of choice?

ps dont worry grin-t if and when it is done, hopefully it'll b close to a decent show like autosalon or nats maybe end of year most people wont no the difference but at least the honda heads will appreciate it
