ill have an install early february - drop the 98 lude with tein coilovers
add 17x7 , +44 mm offset volk GTN.
im concerned if it will rub.guys do u have experiences with this?

hm... it should be right around there. if anyone makes a 225/17/40 size tires go with that.

 

They will be fine. +44mm is just about perfect for a 7" wide wheel. I had 17x7 +45mm with 215/40/17 and they fit perfectly. No rubbing at all, and I did not even need to trim off the tabs on the back bumper cover.

I would not recommend 225/40/17 on those wheels as previously suggested. AFAIK, the only tires that come in that size are Nittos. And with a tire that wide, you may have clearance issues...

At those specs you should be fine.
go any wider tire or fatter rim and expect rubbing.
