"Aircraft" stripper from Wal-Mart. It's in the auto. section for about $5... that **** will eat the skin off your bones.

Actually, if he plans on repainting them sandblasting won't be a good idea.. it leaves the wheel very rough and you would haft to sand the wheel smooth before repainting... that = PITA.
Aircraft stripper or ''auto'' strip works wonders.

Mmmm i recently got some SlipStreams and painted them white. I wish i had them powder coated. I spent about 40$ for spray paint, clear coat, primer, arcraft stripper, etc. Was a good experience, but then youll end up chipping them one way or the other. Then it expands
. I would do powder coat if i was you.

They also make red scuff pads you can buy at auto parts stores. They're by the auto body stuff, just get the red ones. That's what we used to re-do a set of wheels.

i did this with my rotas....scrubed aircraft stripper on them with a brush and then sanded or scotch padded them.make sure you dont leave the stripper on your hands though. its also kinda messy.
the aircraft stripper can get messy but will do the job w/ a little patience and time.
Be sure to clean then thoroughly before refinishing them to ensure whatever goes on next will stick.
also a good shop will run probably $80 or so a wheel to powdercoat them but it's a finish that would last that's for sure.
Good luck...

I could see it being a little rough if you did like one coat but I wouldnt know, I do 4 coats with high quality paint............John
