Ignition Timing
I know that this question is probably somewhere in these forums, but i can't find it. What is the status about increasing my ignition timing on a 99 sohc civic. How do I do it, and should I do it.

just leave it alone if you don't know what you're doing.

Speaking from general experience on engines I seriously doubt you will gain anything from advancing your ignition on a 99 sohc Honda Civic engine. To my knowledge that is an obd II low compression engine. The computer is going to over ride any advancing you do and even if you could advance it the low compression engine wouldn't benefit anyways. To benefit from advancing the ignition you need a high compression engine with a less sophisticated computer. You need an engine from about 1986. The way to advance the ignition on high compression 90's engines is with a chip.
