I see no reason why the RSX wouldn't be, especially since it has been redone for 2005.

Now, since Mitsubishi Motors lost funding from Daimler-Chrysler, they had to sell the majority of their shares to Phoenix Holding in Japan. We will see how long that lasts, as part reason for the demise in their relationship with Chrysler was dwindling sales.

i think those numbers are from a V6, so what does that say ........ , i was reading SCC and they said the new eclipse will have the old NON turbo 4 and a v6, so dont expect the same radicalness as the old DSM's had, also the american model will be powering only the front wheels also.

Yeah, I have to agree with above. That eclipse is pretty bunk, its a 3.8L V6 that generates the 260hp. Weak. I'm more worried about the new Civic being over priced and under powered.

any tru import fan knows that the eclipse is a bitch car through and through. V6...please. ok, enough hating. i think honda needs to send us some JDM motors in our RSX's so that people don't have to be like me and fly mine over from japan...thanks god daddy works for JAL. lol. that'd make the competition sweat a little. 220 hp in-line 4... just my opinion. type-r just holds so much for itself... "type-r" *shudder *shudder...

Hondas have no more comptetion. The celica was the RSX only live competition and that car is dead.
As far as power is concerned unless, the 06 SI is 2600 lbs (give or take) its gonna be underpowered compared to its comp.

Like who? Other than the SRT4 there aren't going to be any cars that are going to blow it away. The Sat-urine Redline, Corolla GTS (or whatever the hell its called), Cobalt SS, Mini Cooper S, Sentra SE-R, and Supercharged Scion tC all either have 200 hp or less. I doubt the Civic is going to be heavier than any of them except for the Mini. And, as we all know, gearing and area under the curve tell a lot more of the story than the mere hp/tq rating.

Not saying the Si will smoke all of them but its certainly not going to be at the back of the pack this time. At this point the only car that I can think of that has not debuted yet but could have more power is the Mazdaspeed 3.

Mitsu only has one hot car and it aint the Eclipse! I dont know how they can do such a good job on the Evo and screw up the rest of their lineup, I mean the new Eclipse is just as fugly as the old one imo. With 200+ bhp the new Civic will be very competitive in the market, even with the old 160 bhp I enjoy driving my ep3. I think however the cars that put the power down from the factory that get forgot about are the VW's. The R32 is a nasty car and the R36 is coming with 300+ bhp, this year the Jetta will even get a 2.0T with 200-220 ish bhp. Nice thing about the Dubs is that for about $500 you can drop in the chip and pick up an extra 50 hp like its nothing.

All that being said, I think Honda will continue to have a visually attractive car that is, as usual, a little low on power compared to the rest of the market, but the tuner market will figure out how to help them make some more.

New MKV Jetta/GTI will get a 2.0T engine with 200HP which opens up even more potential, just hope they arent gonna get heavy like stated before. I just hope some of these new cars actually look as good as they can perform
