Quick Headlight Poll
I'm leaving it open. Just remember, this is an open poll, and I can and will check to see who votes what if the choices become offensive or non related (example, SWED).
Sorry, I didn't want to make it closed and have someone be like "You are a dumbass, those lights suck, why aren't "ABC" Lights on there?!" I assumed it could at least be taken seriously...

Because we dont all have JDM light bulb harnesses.
My brother does though, and I laugh because he pays like $80 for a new set of bulbs.
Then again, a pair of Silverstars cost the same, but ya know.

what harness? the bulbs plug right into the factory harness.

Im an idiot.
I just remember when my bro got his JDM one-pieces for his 92 GSR he had to swap all the plugs for the headlights/corners. I was thinking of his corner lamps/turn signals that use the strange harness.

HID aren't illegal if you get them from a car that comes with them OEM. If you buy a kit, those are what are illegal because of the glare that they cause. but if you get some off of a s2k or a tsx or something that has them, put them on some projector headlights, then you cant get in trouble.

i beleive they are technically still illegal because they are not DOT approved, but no one will have any problems because they arent rediculous in terms of glare ect.
doing an HID retrofit, like the whole projector lens into the headlamp assembly of like a civic, would be best. but for cost, the BEST you can do is PIAA bulbs. they fit like OEM, and are better in all aspects, minus the fact that they are like 60 bucks for bulbs. however, compared to a 400$ HID conversion, its cost-effectivly the best
Auto Express, a British car magazine reviewed a good deal of H4 bulbs. The best H4 bulbs (+50%) are found in this link:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/p...39917
You can also look at the +30 and standard bulb reviews for comparison. They all use the same methodology so the bulb ratings are comparable between categories.
Any bulb with a blue filter on it will be crap. This includes PIAA bulbs and Sylvania Silverstars. Note that European Osram Silverstars are a completely different bulb than the Sylvania Silverstar even though Osram owns Sylvania. In Europe, the Osram Cool Blue bulb is the equivalent to the Sylvania Silverstar bulb in the US. Read through the Auto Express review to see that the Osram Cool Blue bulb only scored slightly above other standard bulbs in their tests. The +30 and +50 bulbs are much better.
Here is an Overboost review on PIAA bulbs and how they fared against others:

They didn't do so hot.

the only way to legally put HID's on your car is to use the ENTIRE housing (including reflector/projector and lense), bulb, and ballast from a car that has DOT approved hid's.
