05 ecu different than previous years
are the new rsx s ecu's different than the older dc5's? the old ones used eeprom and the new ones use just rom? was thinking about getting one (an 05) and i heard that the new ecus were different. if anyone can answer thanks in advance. also hondata doesnt have a reflash program for it yet do to its new rom config?????
the 05 ecu is different. the wiring harness is completely different and the sensors are wired differently too.
hondat does not have a reflash yet. don't bother them cause itll mean that have more time to research it.

Okay, your answer was not fully complete. It is not that Hondata does not have a reflash, they can't reflash. Instead of the ECU being equipped with a EEPROM that can accept a flash, the ECUs on 05s went back to the old OBDII hardware with nothing more than a ROM. Hondata has tested a conversion harness that allows them to use a K-Pro with the DC5, but nothing will be released for some time.

ok so done with that. got another ? about the 05 then.... is it the same as the jdm one as in headlights taillights and other small **** like that? or does the jdm one still have the headlights like the 02-04 model? because ii heard acura did this to make it look more like the rest of the acuras.
the JDM typeR has the same style headlights and taillights that you have. the "new" style. obviously the lights are different in design because they have to point for right hand drive
sooo sexy thanks for the pics.
that **** makes me want the newer one even more. damn the only bad thing is the car payment. ****!
OK so tp o the next part of the ?. is the jdm ecu like our new ecu where it uses new sensor wiring and a rom memory only?

No, not same engine. K20A2 = 02-04, K20Z1 = 05+

the 2005 JDM DC5R still uses the K20A engine though. so the ECU would have stayed the same as the 02-04.
