ecu has nothing to do with the starter..

now.. is it ACTUALLY SPINNING, but NOT STARTING? or SPINNING, and NOT STARTING? this is really important to know...

have you tried jumping your starter from the battery directly? If you can, then you have break in the wires..

How old is your car? your ignition switch may be out..

before anything, PUT YOUR CAR IN NEUTRAL, and try to jump a wire from the battery to the small terminal on the starter, and if it starts, then you know everything else is fine, and you have a break in the starting circuit..

after you do that, and you said you checked all the wires and fuses, then i would put money on the ignition switch being bad...

But first, please tell us if its EVEN SPINNING..

again, you should never replace parts unless you KNOW they are broken.. like, you replaced the starter, and it still didnt work, but you should have tested the starter bad before replacing it... just a tip for the future

so yeah..

1. tell us if the motor is even spinning

2. test your starter with your car in neutral, keys on, and then jump the wire from the + side of the battery to the small terminal on the starter, and see if the car starts...

Are all your grounds connected. One on the thermostat, one from chassis to tranny, chassis to valve cover. Also make sure your starter`s ground is connected.

sorry to thread jack but in my case the motor doesnt even crank...
dash lights come on, i can hear the main fuel relay click on, and i can hear the fuel pump purge, but when i got to crank i get nothing!dash lights just dim..
ive recently got new starter, main fuel relay, dizzy, battery, and replaced all grounds and cables...
just ordered an ignition switch, hopefully thats the culprit!

Oh yeah forgot to mention that it didnt just complety stop starting out of nowhere, i would have to hold the key in "start" and it would eventually start cranking after 5 sec... now no crank! =(
