black brembos,all 4 corners, off of a 996 c2.

every now and then i see a civic with this setup. does anyone know what it takes?
for under 2grand for 4corners this might be great if its reasonable on fab work.

Why bother? You can only stop as fast as your tires will let you, and if you're wanting to avoid fade with thermal mass, this would be overkill. Any benefits you may receive would be severely offset by the huge weight increase.

good point. anyways i thought it might be decent to do to a street car if it was just something like a washer trick or fabbing a bracket.
soemthing tells me the rears would never work.

Forgive me if I am incorrect, but wouldn't those calipers be poorly matched to the Honda master cylinder?
I know little of hydraulics, but I do know that things not matched wont always work together.

Correct but if you've got the $$ for a brake setup like that, then you'd probably be going with a custom Tilton MC or something similar...
Christian, who'd buy StopTech's instead anyway.

My only point is that if you're not gonna change the MC, then you wasted your money on something that won't work optimally.
Get the stop-TECH's and do it right for less $$

brake systems are designed to work with other parts. those rotors have a huge offset too.
you would also need some cnc'd custom brackets to work so that the calipers actually will bolt on.
and that bracket has to be really strong and designed correct otherwise you will have uneven pad/rotor wear.
just get some stop techs if you want bling.
otherwise integra 4 lug or itr 5 lug brakes are really kick *** with good pads/rotors/fluid that are attached with some sticky rubber

you wouldn't want those brakes on all four corners in a Civic. At most you would want the Brembos in front, and something significantly smaller and lighter in the back. With the weight distribution of a Civic, you'll lock those Porsche rears every time you touch the brakes. Trust me, I run the Porsche Brembos on the front (the AEM Cooltech kit - Boxster S rear 4 piston Brembos) with GSR rears, and I still can lock them up if I'm not careful.
