From: chillin in that city called queen creek, but homes the atl
u need to search. but me my self i went w/ a d15b vtec becuase it was cheap and has the same power as a z6 but just a little less torque not that its even noticeable
if ur going to rebuild the bottom end,
finding aftermarker parts(forged rods for example)
will be easier with the z6 bottom end. and you are starting out with more displacement.
I love the d15b, it's better than the z6 imo, in stock form,
it has more power and revs freer, despite its .1L difference
but if you're building it up, you'd have to get the rods custom made,
and perhaps the pistons too, not that its that tough, but you could probably
find a deal on some parts for a z6, wheras for the d15b having to have them custom
made means u pay standard prices.

Like Tad said. If you looking to build up the internals, go with the z6. Since 1.5 rods are super expensive. I know crower makes a set but they go for 600. the good thing about d15b rods compared to other d15 rods is that you can put 1.6 pistons on them unlike other 1.5 rods. The d15b internals are kinda one-off being that the closest thing to them is the vx and it's still not totally the same. I picked up a d15b since I got it for 325 from a shop and z6 engines around here go for right around that same price so why not and since I don't plan on building the internals ever.
