K20A3 cat removal (before and after dyno plots)
100% stock 2002 EP3 with crush bent 2.5inch B-pipe, Strup header, all else stock.
only change between plots was the removal of factory cat, replaced with straight pipe (2.5inch)
Note: numbers are NOT dynojet (a stock EP3 puts down around 120-125hp on our dyno) it is a Mustang Dyno BTW.
As you can see below, good gains across the entire RPM range.

same data from above, but show in "deltas" form

P.S. Removal of the cat is only intented for off-road use and is NOT legal on public highways.

I would have liked to see a test against a 2.5in cat. the post seems to be giving the wrong idea that a cat is super restrictive, it's not except for the ability to design a good header and then it's only in the placment of it which can be placed post race header if needed.
I would be willing to bet the difference between a 2.5in cat and a straight pipe would be considered noise or a gain of less than 1

plan on going to jail then. The fine in cali is 5K and or 6 months and if you **** off a cop in the 626 and they know what cat less sounds like it's your ***. Oh wait 626 you might **** them off enough to claim you were street racing = instant impound and auction
I get around this by chopping a section from the exhaust and placing the cat post race header on the EP. You will never know the differenc in power and you won't have to worry about the po's
+ the reduction in noise from the exhaust is more than worth the extra 1hp

why not just get the shorty header then? thats what i did, po's here in cali bein the only reason i didnt opt for the race header.

going with the shorty gives up a huge power advantage, mostly unless your spewing black soot and the tell tale catless raspiness can be heard very few cops will get down on the knees to look under the car and check
