Default Itr Hybrid swap

Have a 1997 civic cx and will be swapping in a 00 type r motor kit,What ecu will i need to this hybrid set up .Can i run the type r ecu or will i need another chipped ecu instead?

you can use the type r ecu, but im pretty sure a chipped ecu would be better.

use the type r ecu, this ecu is the best for the type r engine. I will warn you that your car (97) is obdII-A and the 00 type r engine is obdII-B. you will need to run a jumper harness to hook up the 00 ecu to a 97 harness unless you want to use a 96-97-98 ecu then you will be fine.

yeah, that will work fine. good combo by the way. my buddy has a 98 with the ITR.
