I just picked up a 1989 Si for $100 with some light front and rear damage..i think it was in a sandwich wreck

so far i have removed the full A/C system
inner fenders
rear fender liners
will be removing all plastic, and crap in the rear....speakers...plastic...spare tire,
I am also removing the sawblades in favor of the 14" steelies, and swapping the rear disk over
what else can i do to make it at light or lighter than my stripped 1990 STD hatch
BTW the speaker pods are gone also

dash, passenger seat or change them for non adjustable racing seats, the adjustable ones are just as heavy as stock. o and the lame door mounted seatbelts

 

inside fenders? the plastic liner? if the front passenger side is good shape, how much do you want for it?

 

carbon fiber hood, lighter weight battery (will probably save more weight than the hood). Stripe the sound deadening from under the carpet. The carpet. If you really want to go all out, Lexan windows.

 

well i plan on keeping the front half of the car..in good shape..like drivable...i might think about those seats...i mean..do you think my stripped STD hatch is lighter than my stripped Si CRX will be?

swapping rear disk wouldadd weight a bit then just have nice brembo replacement drums which are lighter

 

I dont know what the weather is like over there but you can also take your windshield wipers off along with the motors...it will make your car look more clean too. I would also invest in some hx rims. you can get some for like 200 bucks. Steelies weigh a ton. You can also take off your front and rear bumper reinforcements...that will all save you some serious weight....as opposed to not serious weight...ummmmmmm yea. Oh, spare tire and jack...gone. I did all that to my HF...and it feels lighter when i drive it, i usually try to drive with about a quarter tank of gas too...just in case BEe Tek isnt hitting hard enough...lol...kidding. LOL...i used to have VX wheels....even lighter...but they are hard to come by....mine got bent...and no one here with em....on the car..will let em go...i used to walk up to cars and offer money..but no one wants to part with them
