I recently got my JDM ITR Recaro seats. I noticed that the right side seat (JDM driver, US passenger) has a bracket on the bottom that holds the seat belt light plug (see Image 1 below). The left side seat (JDM passenger, US driver) has the same plug, but it does not have a bracket on the bottom of the seat, so the seat belt light plug just dangles there (see Image 2).

Did they come like this or are both seats supposed to have the bracket? I'm thinking that either the bracket on the left side is missing, or there was never a seat belt light plug on the left side to begin with, and the previous owner fabricated one so the seat belt light on his instrument cluster would work. Please reply if you know how they're supposed to come like. Thanks!!!

lookin' under my jdm recaro rails only one side (drivers) has the bracket

what i did when i slapped in the jdm recaro for my passenger side, i just clipped in the seat belt and zip tied the sucker underneath. works fine

 

nothing on driver side (jdm passenger side)
I just use my USDM oem ones instead.

 

what you have is correct. in fact, you are lucky because most times these things dont come with seat belt clips...now you have the convenience of not having to remove your old ones from the stock seats.

 

yeah, i had to remove my gsr ones to put on mine...

going to takatas later anyways so it wouldn't be a bother heh

 

Thanks for the responses! So is the seat belt light plug on the left side supposed to come with the seat or was it fabricated? I would imagine that only the driver's side would need that plug.

 

My 96spec ITR only has the plug on the drivers seat, theres nothing on the passenger seat.
