Bought a 2005 Accord Coupe with the 2.4L. Awesome car. First question is about break-in. I've kept the rpms in the 2k-4k range and no higher. In fact I don't think I've hit higher then 3,800 rpms when shifting so far and the car only has 300 miles on it. Bought it with 9 miles on it. Does this sound like a good way to break-in the engine?

I also noticed a very, very slight engine noise that sounds like like a tapping sound. I'm assuming it's the nature of the engine. It's a very quiet car. I do hear what I think is the cat.converter or something towards the rear of the car that sounds like normal operating noises. It is a ULEV car so I'm guessing it's part of the emissions system. Car is built well and I'm very happy with it. The 2.4 is one hell of a 4cylinder engine. If anyone has any experience or info to add I'd apprecaiate it.

 

The way you are driving is just perfect for the break-in period. Keep it up till you hit 3000K.
