Default SOHC Sleeved block - $560 shipped OBO

As title states. Block is actually a z6, but can be used with any D16 setup. The block is only $500 because the sleeve work is unknown.

The block came from a built engine I am parting out. The motor ran fine when pulled. It had crower rods and arias pistons. Whoever built this engine spent a lot of money on good internals, so I doubt if he scimped when it came to the block.

But really, I don't know any details about this block. I'm always busy and don't want to waste any more time horsing around with it. I've cleaned it up the best I can, but you will still want to hot tank it. Also, the cylinders need a re-hone.

This auction is for the bare block. I will send you everything you need to make the block complete if you pay for the shipping. I just can't ship it all at once because of weight issues.

Here is what I do know from looking at the block. The outside of the sleeves has excess glue pressed out about 2" down from the top. In other words, the sleeves are shaped like Benson sleeves, where they are composed of two different diameters to prevent sinking. I don't know what manufacturers make sleeves shaped like Benson sleeves, that's for you guys to figure out.

I will post pics later. I just wanted to get this up to see what interest was like.

Yeah, I thought it was a y8 too. That's one reason I don't want it . The block and head are z6, the IM was from a y8.

Aren't all d16 blocks interchangeable anyway?

1. ARP studs NOT included with price. I want those bad boys.

2. I tried to take pics that show any flaws that might exist. You will notice in some pics that there are mineral deposits on the outside of the sleeves (like the radiator water wasn't distilled) which is why I recommend hot tanking it.

3. In the fourth pic, you can see that the original hone is still visible. The reason that I reccomend a re-hone is because there is some surface rust on sleeve #3 where the exhaust port was left open when the engine was in storage. A re-hone should take that right off.

4. I took the last pic to show that the sleeves were pressed in off-center. I don't know what that means really. Each of the four sleeves has an identical offset. If anyone knows whether or not that's a bad thing, by all means, feel free to post.

If you'll take $500 shipped, its sold. I would like a few more pics of the main bore and bottom of the sleeves before I send payment though.

Main bore? You mean a pic of each cylinder bore? I'll go take a bunch of pics.

I'm just goig to mail you the pics so I don't have to upload them all. I tried my best to get pictures of the under side of block, but my camera likes to auto-focus on the wrong parts.

To break down the pics:
cyl.1 - Has residual rust where the rings sat. The rust is not from the sleeve.
cyl.2 - Same as cyl.1 but also has some surface rust where exhaust port was open. It's very thin - will probably come off with oil and a piece of cloth.
cyl.3 - perfect.
cyl.4 -perfect.

The pic of my messy garage floor shows all the crap to make the block complete. I have a new water pump/tensioner/timing belt I can send so disregard the rusty water pump in the pic. The other random pic shows the girdle.

Mmmm... Damn. Unfortunately, all the pics I sent you are with the main bearings still in place. I never removed them.

I guess I'll take some more pics later with the bearings removed.

FYI: Benson "usually" engraves their logo on the blocks that they sleeve.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough before. ALL FOUR cylinders are pressed in the same, not the number four cylinder. Each of the four sleeves has an identical offset, meaning they were all pressed in the same way.

Heh, I guess I would have noticed that .

But there is an engraving though - Five letters in a row etched into the flywheel side of the block. "C-D-C-C-????" The fifth letter is some funky symbol that would result if you lay an "L" perfectly over a "P"

^^^It better be quick! Two guys seem serious about buying it.

Here's the deal guys. I am shipping the bare block in one box by itself. I will ship anything else you want in a second box. By anything, I mean:

-Crank
-Crank girdle
-Oil Pickup
-Flywheel
-Water pipe/ports
-Water pump
-Timing belt/tensioner
-Oil pump

The bore is stock. The buyer can purchase the corresponding arias pistons for an additional $200.

My PMs stopped working a couple weeks ago. I didn't know you wanted the girdle. ****, I could have squeezed that in with the block. That's why I asked specifically what you wanted. I believe your response was "just the bare block..." Now I've got to make another trip to fedex and pay more for shipping. That's fucked up .

I sold to you for $100 cheaper than some of the other offers I was getting simply because I wanted to avoid the hassle. Now I have to get off my *** and go do errands for you.

I don't know much about engine building. I thought that was implied in my prior posts. That's why I kept asking what you needed.

But **** it. I mean what the hell. Looks like I'm off to kinkos aa;lsdjf;aldskjfa;l alsd;fa;sldjfadf a;sdjfa;sdlfja;sdljf a;dfja;dlfjad; fa;sdjfa;sdlfja;sdflja;d sfa;dsjfa;dslf kasd;fljakdf ;asdljfa;ld faj;dlfjjasdf ;asdjfa;ldsfja ;dsfj ad;f as
