92 Accord no start
OK. My 92 Accord will not start. For a while it would not re-start after short or long distant drives unless I let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes. Then the idle started to rev high then low and the engine light would come on at stops. Then it would die while I was driving it. Kinda like popping into nutral. But I could downshift and the transmision sounded like it was working fine. It would die once below 10 or 15MPH and re-start after a short break of about two to five minutes. Now it won't start at all (after two days of the "wait a few minutes" and one episode of the "die while driving). I bought a book to find out how to check the main fuel relay but it isn't where the book says it should be. I find the cruise controll box, the fuse box, the main wireing harness, and a bunch of other things but nothing that resembles the main fuel relay. If anyone out there knows where I can find it or has an idea of something else that could be causing my problem, please let me know. I'm at a loss as to what to do next and I need my car, BAD. Please help. Also, after using fule ingector cleaner my engine light problem and idle problem stopped.

Hey Shevy, I just replaced my main relay. I had to unbolt my cruise control box, and found it behind it. Let me see if I can find a few websites that will help....
Although it may not be whats entirely wrong, its a good idea to replace it. I have a 92 accord LX 5sp and during the summer I would get the no start, just click. Right now im trying to figure out why it is permanently stuck on the click... even after I replaced the relay.
It's a bitch to get out, I wont lie. But if you got the right tools, its much easier. I only had a basic set of tools since my craftsman set got stolen, and I was wishing really bad I had a wobbly extension.
Here is a website I found when I was trying to trouble shoot my no start problem. These are common problems/recall stuff. It says that Honda might reimburse you for some of the price, But I don't know if thats true.

About the main relay: The reason it fails is that the solder joints dry and crack, so IF you know how to solder you can resolder it and save your self the cash. I personally just opted to replace it with a new one.

I came accross many different guides, so I will just put them all here and hope it helps others that search.

Good luck!

hey no problem, gota a small favor, do you have a digital cam? I kinda just mounted my cruise control box, but I don't think its right cuz I got no place for the other bolt... you wouldnt mind snappin a pic or 2 for me wouldya?
There are 2 bolts you need to take off to get the cruise box off, one is towards the front of the car by the brake pedal, the other is towards the door from there.
The relay is a real bitch to get out. If you can just unplug it and plug your new one in, zip tie it out of the way, it will save you a ton of time and headache.

ya it really sounds like somthin with the distributor or coil? It dont hurt to replace that relay though. I finally got my no start fixed on my 92 accord. What a PITA! I had my starter tested 4 different times 3 different places, and it worked. Inbetween all that I was putting it back in, and it would work, then it would just click the next day. I finally said to hell with the bench tests and bought a new starter. I had to order a Denso, finally got it, put it in and no probs so far knock on wood...
