Default greddy turbo kit?

boost is good...

What filter are you guys using? I can't get the greddy one to fit without preventing the hood from closing..... I'm currently running the shop rag + clamp filter...

WHOOSH.... PSSSSHHHH!

Most pics I have seen have the filter on the turbo housing. Is there enough room to get a pipe with an offset past the charge tube? If so you might be able put in the same location as a cold air.

at least this would be an acceptable upgrade from the shop rag/clamp setup your running now.

I still dont see why people go turbo on ITRs... when most posts that I have read they only last for about 20-30k miles... but hey turbo ITRs are still hot

.....usually a ride in a turbo itr is the culprit.

You tend to quote Will Smith (ID4): "I gotta get me one of these!"

How's your boost creep? Can you keep it under 10 PSI?

Did you cut the stupid restrictor plate off of the intake pipe yet?

**** dude, that filter should fit in there, although mine does touch the hood. How hard did you try?

I'm running off the wastegate only. I'm taking it easy right now and checking for leaks, etc...

Restrictor plate on the intake? I'm not sure I understand... I didn't see any restrictor plate.....

Do you have abs? I have no idea how you got it to fit so well.....

I guess I need to redo my charge piping.....

I just finished putting a turbo on my ITR. I built the kit myself. The way I did my air in was to use the stock rubber hose into the turbo inlet and then I built a custom pipe to put the filter in the fenderwell behind the light. If you are intersted I can get a picture and e-mail it to you.

kit is not much good over 18psi, plus the internal WG is very prone to spike at those boost levels

FYI

on the gsr kit, the pipe the filter attachs on to has a "restrictor" that severly restricts air flow. it is smaller than the diameter of the pipe, so you can dremel it out to match the normal pipe diameter. hope this makes sense. also, suprisingly enough the si kit doesnt have this restrictor, pretty weird.

I have the LS kit, and no restrictor to speak of.....

I wish I had a pic to see what you (and others) are describing.....

Here are the photos...I apologize for the quality they were taken with my cell phone. I regret not taking pictures while I was building this. By the way, I just got her running yesterday and she does well with with 6 psi of boost. I am still tuning before I up the psi to 8. If you are interested, the motor was rebuilt a year and a half ago with stock internals and Wiseco forged pistons-stock compression ratio. It also has a Jacobs Ignition system on it that I put on when the factory coil died. Other than a few mods like upgraded brakes, it is mostly stock. A friend let me use his site to host them-take a look at his Z28 its pretty hot.

Yeah, the LS kit is supposed to fit better, but I have the GSR kit. All GSR kits have it.. here's a thread that covers it.

It would be right at the filter attachment point, a disk that's tack-welded on in 4 places. The inlet was only 1.5 inches or so, it's a pretty serious bottleneck. It was either for emissions or boost creep (likely, the latter).

the turbo is good to about 22psi and as long as you have a decent downpipe and good boost controller it will hold it just fine. the only time mine ever creeped was with the controller off and it was about 17 degrees out
