Default Shift Linkage horror!

While i was driving on I-10 E i was at a constant 4k rpm for at least 3 hours , I start thinking about the worse case scenario , which is the shift linkage rattling off , but the thing is , i ran out of gas and decided to go get some when suddenly my shift linkage stud was half in and half out of it ! so i try to keep the stud there by pushing agianst my shifter so that it chould stay in place until i chould reach a gas station. This plan worked but now what am i to do without a bolt to go with it? Oh I can just borrow one from my header :-) . Well anyways, i drove the rest of the way home playing tag with some random cars out there until i reached my destination(}had my hand on the shifter the whole time to absorb the vibration , just tought i whould share with yall to what whould have been a bad day stranded 1 1/2 hours away from my house. But now i know that Ii might need some special type of bolt to go with the stud so next time it wont rattle off?If yall know what part number this is chould you be kind enough to give it to me? thanks .

i didn't have some washers on my shifter oncea nd it dropped...my car is lowered 4" and it didn't even drag at all... i just picked it up and i could still shift, except it was a bitch.

moral of the story, use lock tite and washers where needed

I feel you on that one. right after my B16a swap. The shift from an integ had to be cut and put up there. WEll point of the story.....The piping and the cat made the Rubber Bushings warp and caused the whole Shift linkage to drop off the car and the only thing holding it in the hole of the car was the boot and the shifter ****! hahaha that was 20mi away from my garage. point of story......go over everything 500x if you have to.

Well usually I'm pretty good about details like that, but you know the end of the stabalizer piece of the shiftlinkage? well it goes through this rubber piece, and then there is a metal peice that covers that, and into that goes 2 bolts (that goes through the floor) and holds it up. Well the ****** **** bite that I bought the car from, was a complete numb **** ricer that i swear, after he took a **** he prolly brushed his teeth and called it good. When I got the car, it wouldn't go into first gear, he was like "yeah the exhuast is hitting it" i said ok, no biggie it's not like it was staying with that ricey exhaust anyways for much longer. Well, it was actually that metal bracket that holds it up...it was completely smashed to **** so i just pull it off and put the bolts back on..

i completely overlooked the fact that it was rubber that i was putting the bolts onto so it just went around the bolt heads and dropped. So yea ... 2 washers = all better.
