the previous owner put a short shifter on my 93 civic hatch, and everynow and then, like sitting at a stoplight or something while the car is idleing, the linkage underneath the car rattles like crazy, like two washers are vibrating next to eachother or something. i tried tightening the bolt and when i do it to tight, i can shift, but i did it just enough so it wouldnt rattle and i can still shift ok. but, im guessing it loosened up because the rattle came back!! how do i fix this?

get the oem shifter back on there that doesn't need all that sloppy hardware or try using some rubber washers and tighten it up to absorbe some of the vibrations
