Pssssssh Noise!
What is this noise coming from the engine? Just done a recenty swap and it was a huge hp increase, a little over double the hp, and when the car is in motion (moving ) there's this HISSING sound ( Psssssssssssh ) and ask you press the gas more, the HISSING sound gets louder. When you come to a complete stop, the sound decreases and then it's gone. This i all coming from the engine. I just put a new AEM short air intake. My car is a 90 crx hf. Is this normal? It's all motor, no turbo. sounds like turbo though. anyone knows?

I kinda thought it was the aem intake also. I had a hf stock and it had less then 62 hp and it wasn't able to suck that much air in cause of the lack of horsie, but since this swap, i'm getting at least double the hp and maybe that's why the sucking of the air into the intake is what that hissing is!

hey theres these belts called "gator back" goodyear belts you can get at action auto parts and they give my car a nice whislting sound, almost like a mini-supercharger or something lol. but I suppose those grooves on the belts are actually for cooling purposes.

Check the tube that runs into the side of the intake tubing and the other end is at the valve cover. If it is out it will whistle just like you describe. Look for a loose metal to rubber fitting near the throttle body. Bet thats it!
