CLIFFS NOTES: replaced longblock, now cant get into 2nd, 4th, or reverse


just replaced the engine in my 96 dx hatchback, took out a d16y7, and put another one in using my old tranny, now when trying to select gears, the tranny will only go into 1,3, and 5 cannot get it into 2,4, or R any clues???? i need help fast cause the car is taking up lift space at my friends shop

i was thinking the same thing, but the linkage stayed on the tranny when i dropped the engine, and the shift linkage stabalizer stayed on the car...but i was pushing the car around the shop and hung the stabalizer on a crack on the ground and bent it pretty bad, so i replaced that and still am having the same problem
