Default Straight Pipe..2.5 or 3.0?

im currently running a b16a2 w/ bolt ons. I was thinking about getting either 2.5 inch pipiing or 3 inch piping for it. Although im afraid if i get caught without a catalyc convertor. i heard the fines can hit 3,000 dollars, not worth it at all. I was htinking maybe getting the pipiing and then a hi flow cat. i currently have an apexi n1 cat back, am i going to have to get rid of the apexi and buy a muffler to stick on the tip or is there a way i can keep the apexi with getting maximum gains? Also this straight pipe will give me high end speed right? thanks

dude, im running some shitty *** header, into a pacesetter hi-flow cat, and then my 2.5" magnaflow cat back on my b16a. it sounds real deep and not ratty. if you go with a straight pipe itll sound like a shitty ratty car.

thats just what i have. your car, you run what you want. im just sayin if you run straight pipe itll sound like a damn cavalier with a "cool" apc muffler

your stock pipe is probably somewhere between 1.5 and 2" cast iron.

2.5" SS would be just great for you.

s/c = supercharger

get 2 1/4 or 2.5. if you go to 3 you'll get backpressure and it'll sound like $h!t. but if you go force induction get the 3

He'll get backpressure if he gets 3" piping?!? He'll have less back pressure with a larger pipe, it'll still be there, just less.

Anyways...for a B16A2 that is only mildy modded with bolt ons, 2.5" ID piping will be more than sufficient. 2.5" piping will support almost 300whp, which you won't be close to.
