Default engine runs rough when there is a heavy torque load

I have an LsVTEC and through the lower rps range it runs rough, like it conducts vibration through the car.

High rpm range seems ok, just cruising is fine...

But when I am going up a hill or something, it just seems to start vibtrating.

any ideas?

what RPM are you at? Do you have stock pistons/milled head?

could be mounts. I had a problem with my integra GSR at 6 to 7 rpm i would get a vibration. It was the two lower mounts were loose.

Im thinking more on mounts. But also how fast do you go when this usually happens? Does it get worse the faster you go? Could be infact that your wheels are unbalanced, or balanced incorrectly.

if feels like the wheels are unbalanced, but it is independent of car speed, and DEPENDENT on engine speed.

I have urethane inserts on the motor, so I'm not leaning toward the mount side....

would too much fuel do this? I just had a new rom put in....but if i remember, it started this trend slightly before i put in the rom.

cheap gas makes it worse! detonantion?

A bad spark plug or plug wires can cause this problem as well if the car's experiencing a slight miss. Check them all out or swap them for some good ones and see if it stops. If not check out your distributor cap and rotor etc.

Because you said that when the car is under load when it occurs, that's what tipped me off. If it turns out to not be electrical related, try checking your cv joints/axles for any problems.

Urethane mounts will conduct the low frequency vibration more and then not so much high once it revs up. Downshift that shnapple.

hahaha you said torque when talking about a honda.

hahahaha

i would check mounts, plugs, and wires. from there it could be ignition or timing.

remember, always check the little stuff first

I replaced the coil, and the car had NO spark.
Put my old coil back in, car started right up.

Tested resistance, measured over 14 ohms at the primary.
complete weaksauce.
someone needs to be fired at their QC dept.

returned itand waitin' for another.

measured resistance of my NGK wires, they are within spec. Just to be sure, tried a new set of plug wires.

No difference.

Getting the timing checked today.

If the timing is on, then I'm guessing something in the drive train. Any ideas? end play in the drive shafts?
