Me and my friend got a debate. The so called JDM front for integras, did they comon only the type Rs? Or any integra 98+? Thanks!
the JDM front ends came on all integra models in japan. I know a guy here in town who has a 97 right hand drive integra GS-R that came with that front end.

What about the Si-Vtec? I don't know much about integras, but I thought they had the "USDM" type front.

93.5 through 95 Integras in Japan had the same front end as USDM 94-97 Integras (all models including Si-VTEC). In 96 the Integras in Japan switched to the "JDM front end", with the ITR having black housing headlights, and all other models had chrome housing headlights (SiR, SiR-G, and all the lower SOHC models). Japan market Integras never had the 98-01 USDM front end.

so which one was wrong, you or your friend haha..
but yeah, all integras in japan had the "jdm front", not only the type r.
the only diff. is the housing, the type r is black housing.
hope this will end the debate =P

^^^^ the top left book is the bible =P i've had mine since 99 or so haha

PatrickGSR has got the facts above...
during our time when the 94-95 Integras came out here with the new body style, ONLY the JDM Type-R had the "JDM Front End". Which we called "The Type-R Frontend" since only Type-R's had that frontend and there were no USDM Type-Rs. Later 96+ all JDM Integras had a similiar frontend, and from then on... we called it the "JDM Frontend".

Actually all G3 Integras had the 4 headlight front end up until 95. The Integra Type R wasn't introduced until 96 (the one that had the 4x114.3 15" wheels and hubs).

This is basically what i thought! now let me flame them! haha.
I knew they had the DB headlights in japan. I see them make kits for em! I knew the japanese public hated them, so they changed it. ANd i know not ALL jdm integras had the "JDM" front. But they didnt believe me. Thanks guys for boost my self-esteem!
edit: The reason i didnt search was so i can show them here! and prove em wrong.

Have you been reading this thread?
From model years 96 through '01, ALL Integras in Japan had the "JDM front end". Yes even the base model 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC Integras had the JDM front end during those model years. The SiR-G was part of the 96-01 model year run, and also had that front end.
The Si-VTEC was part of the 93.5-95 model year run, and ALL Integras during those years had the 4-headlight front end.

Correct, although if I'm not mistaken, all '98-spec ITR's came equipped with HID lighting rather than it being an option. The halogen black housing lamps are from '96-spec ITR's.

the JDM front end came on 95 and newer integras in japan. All models came with it, not just the type R.
trust me, i have seen it in real life and i know this is the only answer there is for this question

The 3rd gen Integra was first released in Japan in May 1993, and soon after was introduced here as a 94 model.
The "JDM front end" first came out on Integras introduced in September of 1995, which would be a '96 model to us. The Type R came out in October 1995.

The base models had D16 engines. Fuel is about 3-5 times as expensive over there than it is here, so they have to have more fuel-efficient cars than we do.
