Buying a set of Yokohama AVS ES100, what size would be great with GSR blades?

195/55-15 would be best if they have them in stock. They're quite a bit cheaper than 205/50 and might experience a little less sidewall rollover in corners.
I currently have 195/50-15 ES100's on my stock GS-R wheels, only because 195/55 was on backorder at the time. But I like the smaller diameter of the 195/50's, helps acceleration a little bit.

If you want to keep your speedo accurate, go with the 195/55/15.
Also, 195/50's do not have the proper load rating, BUT, there are people who have run this size w/o any problems.

what sort of Falkens?
Ziex's aren't that great, and Azenis don't come in 195/50 size. 205/50 Azenis are way too wide for stock 15x6 wheels IMHO. They are much better suited for 15x7 wheels.

I had this debate awhile back as well. I went with the 195/55. If your going for looks there isn't much of a difference. Also the price is quite a bit different in the two. Couldn't be happier with the ones I got

I'll vouch for that
195-50's made my LS accelleration a LOT better. Yes it throws off the speedo but only by 4mph, no biggy, the stock gauges in general arent that accurate anyways

Since the overall diameter of 195-50's are smaller than stock tires, it makes 1 full rotation quicker than 195-55's, so it equals a quicker accelleration at the cost of gas mileage (very minimal gas mileage difference, almost negligable unless you take long trips).

What you experience is an effectively higher final drive ratio due to the tire's smaller rolling diameter.

I had a set of 205/50/15 azenis on a set of 99 civic si wheels on my teg; they worked well, since the azenis have a very strong sidewall (heavy too). Here's a pic of them:

Though my favorite setup was a set of 205/50/15 bridgestone potenza s03 tires on a set of 15x6.5 (40 offset) rota slipstreams
a setup I experimented once with while I had a couple set of wheels at a time, (I buy and sell wheels all the time), was 205/50/15 on the front with 195/55/15 on the rear......I liked this setup and have thought of doing it with the same set of rims, but rotating tires would not be good with this setup

Get the 195/55 if you are on 15x6. I will never understand people who put a 205/50 azeni (which is wider than a typical 205) on a 15x6 rim. They must like it sloppy and shitty?
I have 195/55 ES100s on my stock blades, probably the size i'm going to stick with for my next set. They are far superior to the Ziex's i had on my civic, just letting you know.
