Default Generic Mechanic CONTRACR for Swap - Opinions Needed !!! READ

Hi Guys.

After reading the advice on the Honda-TECH sticky I want to make some sort of contract before I hand over my car to the mechanic to fix it...worse still he will do a backyard Tax free Job So i want to write a generic contract which u people can ammend and add to and then eventualy maybe we can sticky it So heres my first Draft Its a H23a to a H22a swap in a Prelude Si)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I ___________________ , Licence No: _______________am agreeing to perform the following services on Honda Prelude (Rego No# __________ ) owned by Mr. _________________________. The services I will perform will include parts and labour and is quoted to be ________$

I will perform the following services and will warranty the work for ___ months :

1. Swap the Honda Prelude H23a Engine/Radiator with the following H22a Engine/Radiator with VIN No. # ______________
2. Change Clutch (Exedy Clutch) [Supplied by Customer]
3. Change Timing Belt [Supplied by Customer]
4. Change Water Pump (GMB OEM Japan) [Supplied by Customer]
5. Perform a Conversion from the H22a automatic Timing Belt Tensioner to H23a1 Manual tensioner [Parts Supplied by Customer ]
6. Machine Front Hubs to stop Vibration under Load.
7. Change Front Brakes.


While the Car is under my possession I hold all responsibility and liability for the Car and its contents

comeon guys it should be useful to all...it looks ok ??? any thing should be added here or changed incase anything goes wrong ???

Terms of contract breaches. BUT, contracts are a delicate thing, if you don't really trust the guy, for your protection, I would advise you to advise a lawyer and have them draft the contract.

I'm thinking if you don't trust the guy enough to have to make him sign a contract, then you need to find someone else.

its not a trust issue , but if u read the sticky about doing major work on the car it says to get everything in writing, coz a mechacnic is ur best friend until something goes wrong. !!!!

Hmm terms of condition breaches....i wont scare the guy with those

I think it looks good eh ?

if you can find a mechanic to sign that you are ns ome world i have never heard of.

All the sticky means is that you should have the mechanic write/print a work order with an estimate in it. Not that you should write your own contract. And I agree with dmx if you dont trust him enough to have him sign a contract then why trust him with your car?
