Question about brake caliper paint...
a few years back my uncle talked me into paing my calipers yellow.. i dont know why he thought this was cool, and i dont know why i let me talkin me into it being cool.
but i wanna take that bullshit off and paint them like murder red or something.
my question is how would i take off all the old yellow paint so i can put a new fresh coat of red paint?
also am i going to need to take the caliper off the brake line or what. cuz i forgot how we did it in the first place.
thanx guys

How about taking the yellow off and painting them black or silver? That would look best IMHO.
A wire wheel on a dremel should make quick work of it.
I painted the calipers red on my old Camry (such a ricer
) and I took the calipers off the car and then bled the brakes when I put them back on. It's the only proper way to do it IMHO.

You dont like the yellow color but you are going to paint them red? What's the difference, it's going to stand out just as much.

Our brake calipers were not performance oriented. Why paint them in a performance-looking color that screams "look at me!"? Just my opinion....
My friend painted the calipers on his red 95 Civic coupe in silver, and it looked pretty nice.
My calipers are kind of a gold-ish color stock (unpainted) which I kind of like.
If you wanted to try something different, you could get some little H emblem stickers made somewhere, spray on a red basecoat, let it dry, put the H sticker on and spray on some gloss black, then peel off the sticker... then you would have shiny black calipers with red H emblems on them... it's not something I would personally do, but you might give it a try.

anyone have any pics of there calipers painted black or silver so i can see how it looks?
