Front/rear strut bar install..need alignment?
Hi. on 98 teg, I am going to install the front and rear upped strut bars. 2 questions:
1.) when you take the nuts off the strut studs, do they move and cause the alignment to get messed up? Or is there a just a hole, and not a slot for adjustment?
2.) Are there any problems with the strut bar "flange" that mounts on the strut tower rusting? The reason I ask is maybe if the strut bar is cheaper metal (I am getting tanabi's I think they are called) and do not want it to rust and spread rust to the car. My solution would be to put a very thin rubber "gasket" between the 2.
Thanks!

the strutbars have nothing to do with the alignment, they will only remove the bolts that hold the shocks to the frame, no problem , pop off, put bar on, and screw back on, simple as that, if you were getting a strut bar like the ones that come on the Si coupes ( which connect to your upper control arms), you wouldn't have to worry about ailgnment because the car is on the groung keeping it in place, and that doesn't even have anything to do with it cause it's just a fastener, not an alignment joint... and as for your rust problem, i never even thought of that, that's a damn good idea, i haven't heard of any ones strut bar messing anything up but hey, you can never be to rust conscious........
