Default Possible dirty fuel injectors cause of code 71/72?

I keep getting code 71/72. I have changed all the usual stuff( Plus, wires, cap, rotor, battery)

Once in awhile, it will start with seems to be a misfire. It will run really rough. I'll keep driving it, and when it gets up to operating temp, it will usually stop blinking check engine, and run ok.

What could be the possible causes? I'm too cheap/don't want the hassel, to take it in and have it fixed.

I had the exact same problem, changed everyting you descibed except the battery and still misfied on all cylinders until i took out my injectors and had them cleaned, fixed the problem. No more misfires at all.

Can cleaning the injectors be a do it yourself kinda job? or it has to be taken to a shop?

Have you used Regane Injector Cleaner yet? It's around $5, and is what I have used for years. It's worth a shot.

Other than using a fuel additive type injector cleaner, I'd leave it to the professionals.

I took them out and had a shop clean them. That fuel cleaner stuff doesn't really work to well.
